Democracy
During the 2017 General Election we created our own ‘political parties’. The remit was to create a party capable of making a positive change, locally and more widely. The following videos are the ‘party election broadcasts’.
Safe Cyber Party
Refugee Future Party
Living Longer Party
Health not Hunger Party
Fair Trade Future Party
It is really important that we take responsibility for making the world a better place.
Sometimes we have to listen to others and then try to explain our point of view.
We think about service. Year 6 in London for Remembrance Sunday.
We try to serve others in lots of ways. Here’s our annual Christmas charity fair.
Sometimes service is just taking our fair share of our community’s tasks. Here we’re giving cakes to soldiers who have been clearing our landslides for us.
We run a school council on democratic principles. It improves school: Here’s our school dog!
For democracy to work we need to be able to trust each other. Here we are learning to trust each other in a vulnerable situation.
We want everyone in our democratic community to feel “at peace”.
