"Bliss was it in that dawn to be alive, but to be young was very heaven!"

Educational Visits

One of our greatest pleasures is learning in context. We have two minibuses so that we can take out a class at a time.

The youngest children visit the library weekly.

Sports teams attend tournaments.

Classes visit a variety of habitats for scientific study (seaside, limestone pavements, quarries etc); contrasting localities in Geography; art galleries; sculpture trails; the theatre; dances performances; concerts; local museums; historic settings, houses, castles…etc!

We believe that all children should have equal opportunities to access our curriculum. Therefore the governors have a policy of funding all educational visits. They are free to all our children. No charge is made. No contribution from our families, voluntary or otherwise, is requested. This applies to all our educational visits, including overnight residential trips.

This policy is resourced by:

  • Fundraising, donations and grant applications
  • Income from our school yard car park
  • Kelsick’s Educational Foundation, who provide 20% of our costs
